General Aspect of Political Services

Political Participation is where people participate in activities involving around the government or the community as a whole. Hans Klein, Associate Professor of Public Policy Georgia Institute of Technology wrote that political participation rights belong to the citizens. It is restricted to the citizens. According the Klein, political participant is to “seek to influence public affairs” (Klein 1). The citizens should participate in political services because citizens have the right to give feedback about their community. There are many forms of political participation such as an election. To participate in political services is to contact with the political politicians. It is a way to contribute to the community. Though many Americans does not like the government, political participation helped citizens cry havoc as the voice of the community really is powerful. As Klein said before, if there is “no government” there would be “no citizens” (Klein 1). Government is essential to organization. They help keep cities and society in check. The community can speak with a politician and give feedback. Sadly, many Americans are oblivious to this sort of power they have.
England has a higher voting rate than the United States. The country which is known as the land of the free where people can vote, have a shorter voting rate than a country with a Queen. Americans are just really lazy in everything. People from other countries risk their lives to come to America to vote (Barton 4). There are many explanation of this. Either people are lazy of voting to literally many candidates, or they do not have a higher education. People who are in a higher education are likely to vote because they care about the community. Higher education people are much more inform in politics. Those who are in political services would have a higher chance of voting because they are intrigued by what the government or land owners are doing. Political services is a way to get many people to vote, participate in political activities, give shout outs to their needs, and to help candidates communicate with the society. How else are they going to receive votes?  Well, there are commercials and internet, but how are they going to know what the state want? That is where political participation comes in. It is a great way to connect people to politicians and society to government.
Political participation is very important to the community. Students all over the country are doing political service hours instead of civil. Participation in political not only boost the help of the community, also boost up a person’s charisma. It is a great way to connect the community to the government because a lot of people are complaining about something, but they are not doing anything about it. Political participation helped give people from the community a chance to give their thoughts. It is their right to vote to whom they want as a citizen and they have the right to know about these candidates; hear what they have to say because everyone is equal. Though anyone can search the internet about a candidate, but one must actually participate to understand and hear what the candidates are really saying. More people should participate in the politics because it is a step forward on helping their community grows useful to the nation. It also help the person grow within themselves as they are not as selfish about one’s well being, but the community’s well being.

My Experience Working in Politico Services

My Experience
I learn a lot from doing politico hours for my community services. I learn that there are a lot of teenagers who does not care about who wins during the 2010 mid term elections. Teenagers will complain about school, labor hours and taxes, yet they cannot even attend the politico panel to speak with a part candidate. During the time when we were handing out flyers to advertise for our panel, many people disregarded the flyers which is really depressing because it shows that people in the community does not care. I remember when our class was to poll a hundred students and ask about political related topics. Many students voted for more money in education, for gay people to have rights and the bill of marijuana. Not many students came to the panel.  It was also disappointing that the Republican Party had no one to answer questions. They had one person show up just to talk for five minute and leave. I expected a lot more from the Republican Party because Arizona is a republican state, but statistically though. The Republican Party seems to think that our panel was not important, but it is. We gather a lot of people in the community that wants to make a difference in the community. These people are the voters who vote for the candidate. What about all those republican voters at our panel? They probably feel like the Republican Party does not care about the community. Good thing for the Democratic Party, they had two people show up. Though they could have gotten more intelligent members as most of their answers resolve to ask another person in the party. I remember one woman ask a question about her water bill, the party could not answer it. I kept looking over at her, but it looks like she was really rattled. It was also really surprising that the party had no one talk about the marijuana bill before hand. It seemed like the bill is non existence in Arizona.
Adults on the other hand, came to the panel. They were spirited and ask questions to give the political candidate an outlook on what the community is asking for. Our type of service hours is important today because it is what keeps the bond between the people and the government together. I felt really good helping out the politico panel because I know that I helped organize a panel where people who do care about the community can come and talk to the a politico candidate. It feels great to work with students and teachers who want to help out the community. It shows that our community has people who want to help out the community and make it a safer place and nicer place. We can see the difference between those who wants to see a difference and those who is not concern about the community. If more people came and ask questions about topics toward the candidates, more candidates will come to Anthem and answer every question our community will have. At the Home Owner Association meeting, everyone was into it as many questions were asked about the future of Anthem. Some wanted a new community center, but others thought it was the same Anthem and wanted to build a shopping center in Anthem. There were many discussion made and students, such as ourselves, can help the community by commenting on what to approve.
Politico participants are helping the society in many ways. We are very helpful in the community because we help people be able to speak with someone who have the politico power in government. Not only can the community get to voice out their battle cries toward the political candidates, but the candidates can understand what the community is going through. It is a win-win situation. Candidates can receive information in the community can help the community grow and expand, which also help their politico campaign. It is really common sense, yet so many people fail to see it. Though most answers the candidate gave were not very effective in anything if they are trying to win. They tend to tell people that they are not responsible for a certain topic or they are uninformed by the topic. They did say our questions were very challenging and intelligent. According to the people at the Home Owner Association meeting, we were told that we are the future of Anthem. We are very informing of anything that is going on within the government and I am proud to be part of it.

What I did? Politico Participant Of Course!

Reflection of Political Participant
For my ten hours of community service, I chose to do political participant. My first six and a half hours comes from helping stage up a political panel. The panel is useful for the community because it is a time where people from the community can ask questions and learn about each political party. To get people to come, we distributed flyers at the Boulder Creek High School football game. Each person at the game received a flyer from hand and from their cars. Even though many students disregard our flyer, but many adults were interested in the panel. During the panel, students were to set up the stage and contact political candidates. It was tough because only two Democratic Party members appeared to talk and one republican member was there for ten minutes. The stage was to look professional. We came up with many tough questions to ask the candidates and we learn a lot about with what they answered. Many adults came in to ask questions and we learn a lot about the candidates. The panel was a success as many topics were answered such as the marijuana and gay marriage. The last event I attended for my service hours was a Home Owner Association meeting at the community Center. It was a meeting that projected a future of Anthem. They were either planning on making another community center in the “heart” of Anthem, or a shopping main stream center similar to Happy Valley. We get to comment on what we liked, disliked, and what to approve. According to them, we are the future.
